Mark is the founder of Bestwest Building Inspections and a highly experienced Registered Building Practitioner and Building Contractor, proudly holding Registration Number 13099 with the WA Building Commission.
With a career spanning over four decades, Mark began his journey in the construction industry in 1980 as an apprentice bricklayer. His hands-on experience evolved into full project management, covering all aspects of residential construction, renovations, and structural methods. After managing and supervising building projects throughout the ’80s and ’90s, he went on to run a property investment company, overseeing renovation and new build developments between 1999 and 2009.
In 2010, Mark established Bestwest Building Inspections, driven by a commitment to high standards, thorough reporting, and customer service. While his current focus is on overseeing day-to-day operations and mentoring the inspection team, Mark still personally undertakes selected inspections, particularly when last-minute bookings or complex assessments arise.
Mark’s expertise lies in identifying construction issues, code non-compliance, and substandard workmanship. His reports are known for clearly referencing the BCA and Australian Standards where necessary, helping builders and clients alike understand the importance of compliance and quality workmanship.
Although now primarily in a leadership and quality oversight role, Mark remains active in the industry and continues to influence inspection practices through his founding membership in the Building Inspectors Association of WA, an organisation committed to improving standards and professionalism in the inspection industry.
With over 45 years of building and inspection experience, Mark welcomes the opportunity to provide insight and support for your inspection needs.
