Shaun started his career as a carpenter and is now a Registered Builder with over 22 years experience in residential, commercial, civil, and industrial construction across Western Australia, Queensland, Northern Territory and the UK. His extensive background working with major contractors provides him with a deep understanding of building standards and construction.
Shaun holds a Diploma in Building and Construction (BC105108) a Certificate IV in Building and Construction and Certificate III in Carpentry. Throughout his career he has supervised and worked on major infrastructure and structural projects including pedestrian bridges, rail bridges, industrial facilities, substations, along with many residential projects.
As a Structural Supervisor, Shaun managed crews of up to 90 personnel and was responsible for ensuring all works complied with Australian Standards and engineering specifications. His role included coordinating engineers and subcontractors, supervising complex structural installations, and verifying that construction was completed to the required quality and structural integrity.
Shaun has significant expertise in structural concrete, formwork systems, tilt-up panels, roofing, waterproofing, framing, and residential building practices, giving him the practical knowledge required to identify defects, construction issues, and potential compliance risks, making him a great fit for the team at Bestwest.
