Paul Richardson Photography-10

Richard joined the Bestwest Team in 2021 and has been enjoying changing direction within the building industry, allowing him to use his experience and knowledge in his inspections.

Richard is a highly experienced and accomplished individual. Having started with a City and Guilds Advanced Carpentry and Joinery qualification in 1998 and then proceeding to run his own construction business for 11 years in the UK, Richard has had exposure to a variety of construction methods and practices while overseeing the construction of domestic building work, new timber-framed attic conversion, double-storey extensions, restoring fire damaged properties and bespoke renovations. Supervising contractors within his business, Richard built a sound understanding of inspecting works and ensuring requirements were met or exceeded where possible.

Richard then immigrated to Western Australia and has since supervised building works for ~10 years. This has included supervising single and double-storey home construction, residential unit developments, apartment dwellings from the ground up, and large-scale townhouse developments with contract values up to $24 million. Finally, Richard supervised the construction of bespoke private homes in Perth with contract values up to $4 million.

While working in Western Australia, Richard also applied himself to studying and receiving his Building Practitioners License Qualification (BP104123).

Richard has also had experience managing a large team of supervisors which has allowed him to be exposed to a vast range of works within the residential construction industry including concrete slabs, brickwork, and timber-framed construction, along with all other general house building practices. Richard's extensive construction experience makes him a great fit for the Bestwest Team and he is suitable to carry out Construction Progress Inspections at various stages such as Concrete slab pour, Brickwork and Roof Frame, Waterproofing, and Practical Completion Inspections.

Richard is also carrying out Pre Purchase Building Inspections on established homes. Richard is excited to see a new site every day and the challenges that come with every property and building site being slightly different.
